Peasant museums

Peasant museums

Currently, the problem of preserving traditional culture, of which the village is the main guardian, is recognized as one of the most urgent. One of the ways to solve this problem is to create a museum. Culturally, the museum’s work consists of collecting, storing and putting on public display any objects. Museum items (exhibits) are accompanied by an information certificate.

But peasant museums are not a "dusty collection of antiquities", which is vigilantly guarded by museum keepers, but an inexhaustible source of knowledge and communication. Each exhibit of such a museum is "alive". You can, for example, pick up a spindle and find out which master made it, which peasant woman used it.

There are many peasant museums in our country and they are all different: there are large museum complexes where huts, baths, barns, forges, etc. are collected on the same territory, brought from different places, there are small museums consisting of several rooms in a peasant house, they are cute and sincere.

Western Siberia is famous for its museums. You can’t even list all of them — these are the museums of the Omsk, Kurgan, Tomsk regions and autonomous districts of the North. There are also excellent museums in the Tyumen region, and separately from them it is necessary to highlight the museums of peasant life and everyday life, which are located in district centers, villages andcountrysides. In the museums, you can learn about the daily life of peasants, customs, culture and religious beliefs, get acquainted with the craft traditions of the village: embroidery, weaving, pottery. The museums host workshops, excursions and interactive activities to teach guests Russian folk crafts, and games and fun for young children.

Abatsky Museum of Local Lore

The Abatsky Museum of Local Lore is located in the oldest building of the village — the house of merchant Zanin, built in 1824−1826. It was officially opened on March 10, 1994, and was founded even earlier by a group of enthusiasts led by A.S. Vesel, an honorary resident of the Abatsky district, a member of the Union of Journalists of the USSR.

One of the most interesting exhibits of the museum is a colored porcelain dish made at the first Russian porcelain factory named after Vinogradov, collections of samovars, bells, badges (more than 600 pieces), watches, pottery, a banner made of Prokhorovka, Kursk region, documents of participants of the Great Patriotic War.

Hero of the Soviet Union M.N. Guryev presented the museum with a certificate awarding him the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. There are awards of veterans in the museum: the Order of Glory of three degrees, the Order of Alexander Nevsky, the Order of the Patriotic War, medals.

The museum has paintings by the famous artist M.A. Mochalov, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR. The museum also keeps front-line sketches, personal belongings, documents of the artist, his awards.

The museum fund is constantly replenished. As of January 1, 2022, it includes 3,934 storage units. The museum holds exhibitions, excursions, workshops, quests, and museum lessons. There are outdoor excursions around the village.

Golyshmanovsky Museum of Local Lore named after B.O. Sukhov

On December 5, 1963, the Museum of Local Lore in the village of Golyshmanovo received its first visitors. Over the years, the museum has become a reliable keeper of history and a propagandist of local lore.

Teachers of school No. 1 and amateur local historians M. E., Anufriev S. S., Sukhov B. O., Leonovich A. I., Gerasimov A. N., Rusakova V.K. were behind the origins of this great noble cause. Through their efforts and hard work, hundreds of antiquities characterizing the life of the Siberian village were collected in the early years. Materials have been collected about fellow countrymen and advanced workers, Heroes of the Soviet Union and famous Golyshmanovs, who glorified their small homeland with their talent and work.

In 1984, the public museum of the village of Golyshmanovo was awarded the honorary title of "National". Until 1990, the museum worked on a voluntary basis under the leadership of Sukhov B. O., from 1990 to 2002 the museum was headed by Zhuravleva S. A. (now Usoltseva S. A.), from 2002 to 2016 — Skarednova N. N., since 2016 — Usoltseva S.A. Kazantseva L. K. has been working in the museum for more than 15 years. (guide), Muravyeva L. V. (keeper of funds), Sotnikova L. B. (cashier).

A new stage in the life of the museum began with the arrival of a new director, S.A. Usoltseva. In 1996, the museum moved to a new building and expanded its exhibitions in seven halls. The halls of historical and exhibition, ethnography and nature, paleontology and Memory introduce the past and present of the region, reveal the pages of history and culture, tell about people and their good deeds for the benefit of the small homeland. A special place in the work of the museum is occupied by the patriotic education of the younger generation. The Hall of Memory became a place for memory and courage lessons, meetings with veterans of the Great Patriotic War and home front workers, internationalist soldiers and participants in local wars and conflicts, veterans of the border guards. It creates its own books "Memory" and "Soldiers of Victory", which include detailed biographies of fellow countrymen. The museum cooperates with the Tyumen search party "Krechet" and helps in the search for relatives of those soldiers who in August — September 1941 became a human shield on the outskirts of Moscow. Based on the materials of this work, a diorama "Valley of Immortality" was created.

Every year the museum welcomes about 12 thousand people. He has many forms and methods of work in his arsenal. Along with the traditional ones (sightseeing and thematic excursions, educational and entertainment events), innovative methods are successfully introduced in educational work: master classes, scientific and practical conferences, museum living rooms, presentations on local history topics. During the academic year, the programs "Museum — school", "Preschooler", "Museum pedagogy" are implemented, in the summer — "Holidays at the museum". The Young Guide labor association is successfully operating.

The expedition "Don't disappear, my village!" was conducted. The histories of more than 10 large and small villages and villages of the Golyshman district have been written, and chronicles of the village’s enterprises are being created. The museum participates in exhibition and creative projects at the regional and Russian levels. Cooperation with the Kola Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences within the framework of the project "Siberian village on the verge of centuries: between the past and the future", participation in the regional competition of social projects allowed to improve the material and technical base of the museum. Exhibitions have been exchanged with other museums. Exhibitions of the Golyshman National Museum of Local Lore visited Tyumen, Tobolsk, and Ishim.

The museum collections contain more than 15 thousand exhibits. Permanent exhibitions and rotating exhibitions allow museum guests to get acquainted with the material and spiritual culture of the region.

The Golyshman National Museum of Local Lore in 2014 and 2016 became the best cultural institution in the Tyumen region.

Ishim Museum Complex

The first Ishim Museum was opened on October 1, 1923 in the House of Soviets. As in many other provincial cities, the museum in Ishim was created by the efforts of one person — an enthusiastic local historian G. Levin, who collected and systematized historical exhibits, natural curiosities and the archaeological heritage of the surroundings of Ishim. Its addresses and employees have changed more than once. For several decades, it has survived seventeen managers, five relocations and two closures.

As a result of the reconstruction, the building has acquired a modern look. During the existence of the museum, its staff has done a lot of work to study the life and work, popularize the heritage of P. P. Ershov and the history of the Priishimye. Ershov was published, a collection of his unpublished letters was published. A manor museum was also created in the writer’s homeland in the village of Yershovo in the Ishim district. This museum complex includes the Commissariat House, the Ivanushka Petrovich Museum, as well as the Church of St. Peter the Stylite.
